For folks that race, or officiate races:

Consider becoming a member! There are added times to slide on the weekend, races to take part in, volunteer opportunities that help you learn more about the sport, and year round fellowship, with work bees that sometimes end at the beach.
Individual and family memberships are kept low because we count on each other to keep the luge hill functioning as smooth as ice! For more information on becoming a member, email or stop out during public hours. Participating is fun! Most people have never seen a natural luge track before. We are here to teach each other - how to slide, how to dress for safe and speedy sliding, how to building and maintaining the track (which is fun too!). As a member, please participate as frequently as you can. Along with building a luge track, you will find yourself building great friendships too. Welcome to the club! |

Safety is an important part of the international rules of luge. Regulations address areas such as track design, track inspections, medical arrangements, and athlete's equipment.
In 1991, the engineering consultants for the track's 36,000 watt lighting system received an international "Illuminations Design Award".
